Sensitive, dry and itchy skin
The number of people with skin problems is rising sharply, not least because of increasing environmental pollution. Around 15 to 20 percent of the Swiss population will develop contact dermatitis in the course of their lives. About 90 per cent of the occupational skin diseases recognised by the Swiss National Accident Insurance Fund (SUVA) involve hand eczema. People with occupations that are hard on the skin (such as hairdressers, cleaners, nurses, workers in metal or construction occupations) are particularly affected.
"Without perfume" is not the same as "without perfume"...
The requirements for products with the Allergy Seal of Quality and the claim "without perfume", are stricter than the legal regulations. Synthetic chemical fragrances and essential oils are additionally prohibited. Plant extracts are also not permitted for use in perfuming.
An important added value for people with skin problems!
So why certify your products?
Quality of Life
In general, the following symptoms are typical for a contact allergy or hand eczema.
For those affected, this means a severe restriction of their quality of life.
What is needed for the Allergy Seal of Quality?
In order for washing and cleaning agents to be certified, they must not contain any of the 26 potentially allergenic substances.
They must be in their composition such that their labelling does not contain any of the hazard statements (H315, H317, EUH 208) according to GHS (Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals).
In addition to the above-mentioned basic requirements, the claims "without perfume/without fragrances", "without colourings" as well as "without enzymes" are tested if these claims are advertised or used on the packaging.
